Often, I find myself engaged by mathematical problems. Some of these may be well known problems, others, I suspect, may be of my own invention. It happens not infrequently that I have insights that fall short of a solution. For instance, I may be able to characterise of a solution, or may foresee a promising approach that I have not yet been able to carry through to completion. I intend to present these problems and insights on an irregular basis here.
I want the discipline of explaining my thoughts to serve to clarify my own ideas. Anything beyond that will be an unexpected bonus. This could include, for instance, readers:
- insights and corrections.
- references to relevant publications.
- perhaps even joint work on collaborative problem solving.
I also hope this blog will stimulate and interest readers similar to myself, who find in mathematics a continuing source of fascination. Welcome!
